VILLAGE OF HOWARD, Wis. (WTAQ) - A Brown County Sheriff's Deputy helps three people escape a home fire Saturday morning.

Howard fire officials say it happened at 738 Maywood Avenue when the deputy noticed smoke coming from the garage area around 3 a.m.

The deputy helped people inside the house escape.

The owner and two guests in the home didn't need medical attention.

The damage was contained primarily to the garage and is estimated at $50,000. Officials continue to investigate.
