SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ) - A California man who drowned in Lake Michigan at Sheboygan was identified late this morning as 42-year-old Steven Link.
He had moved to Wisconsin in April to help friends with child care.
The incident took place on the lake near Sheboygan’s Edgewater power plant.
Police lieutenant Brad Riddiough said people in the area had spoken with Link several times late last night. Then around 1:30, they saw his hat floating in the water, and then saw him floating nearby. Riddiough said they pulled him from the lake, but efforts to revive him were not successful.
The police official called Link’s death a “tragic, accidental drowning.”
