UNDATED, WI (WTAQ) - If you logged onto Google today, you saw a creative salute to the late guitar legend Les Paul from Waukesha on what would have been his 96th birthday.
The famous Internet search engine changed its logo to a solid-based guitar. You can play the strings by putting your cursor over them – and you can even make a recording of your performance.
Paul was born in Waukesha. He’s known worldwide for inventing the solid-body electric guitar used by the world’s most famous rock-and-roll musicians in the decades that followed.
Les Paul was known throughout Wisconsin as the “Wizard of Waukesha.” He died in 2009 at age 94.
