The National Weather Service said the winds picked up again Wednesday morning for the second day in a row. Medford had the biggest late morning gusts at 39 miles an hour.
Meanwhile, the winds continue to cause problems for electric service in the north.

The Wisconsin Public Service utility has had the most success restoring customers in the Minocqua tourist area Wednesday morning. The number of customers without power at Minocqua was reduced from 8,500 to just over 5,000 as of late in the morning.
But other areas reported larger outages in the past few hours. Eagle River had almost 2,400 customers out at last word, and Rhinelander had around 1,500 still in the dark.
