The Milwaukee Brewers finished off an 11 game road trip with a 2-1 loss to the Giants in San Francisco Sunday afternoon. Ryan Braun's first inning home run, his 20th of the season and fourth in the last five games staked Yovanni Gallardo to the lead but San Francisco tied the game in the third and pushed across another run in the 4th. Josh Wilson lost a pop up in the sun to allow Aubry Huff to reach and he eventually scored on Mike Fontenot's sacrifice fly. Madison Baumgarner made it stand up pitching into the 8th for the win. Brian Wilson recorded his second save on the series. Gallardo went 7 innings, allowing two runs on 6 hits to fall to 11-7. The Brewers finished the long trip with a 5-6 record and return to Milwaukee at 54-49, good for a share of first in the NL Central. Pittsburgh beat St. Louis 4-3 in 10 innings to salvage the final game of that series at PNC Park. The Pirates are 52-37, the Cardinals are 53-48 making it a virtual three-way tie for the lead. After a day off Monday, the Brewers open a nine game homestand at Miller Park with the Chicago Cubs arriving Tuesday night. Milwaukee will play 18 straight games against division opponents.
