MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - Governor Walker and the head of the Republican National Committee both say President Obama should balance his own federal budget, and stop criticizing the state budget.

The governor and RNC chairman Reince Priebus from Wisconsin went on a radio show in Milwaukee Friday. They responded to a Washington Post report that the White House political group “Organizing for America” had a direct hand in organizing this week’s Madison protests over Walker’s proposed union restrictions.

The newspaper said the Democratic National Committee chairman met with union supporters on Monday in Madison. And then Obama’s political group then made phone calls and other messages to get people to rallies Wednesday and Thursday.

Obama told a Milwaukee TV reporter this week that the Walker bill is an “assault” on public employee unions. He said the economy forces everyone to make adjustments, but Obama said people must recognize that public employees make “enormous contributions” to our citizens.

Republican U.S. House Speaker John Boehner called on the president to pull back his political operation and stop criticizing Walker. Boehner said, “This is not the way you begin an adult conversation in America” about solutions to fiscal challenges.
