MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - A travel agency says it will make up for a mistake that forced the cancellation of 50 all-expense paid Rose Bowl trips for Wisconsin veterans.
Badger Trips, which is based in Ohio, told state veterans' officials this week to find deserving veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars for the trips to Pasadena.
But Michael Trepanier of the state Veterans' Affairs Department said the firm somehow overbooked the reservations. He said the company told him that someone failed to count the second passengers of those who booked for two.
Badger Trips' co-owner Ryan Polun said the mistake was a "miscommuniation with a third-party vendor." But he did not elaborate.
Polun said the Rose Bowl promotion "blew up," and they'll work to provide another experience for the veterans some time in the future.
