ST CROIX FALLS, Wis (WSAU) Scientists find evidence of unwelcome visitors in the St. Croix River.
Testing for environmental DNA indicated the invasive Asian Carp had been as far upstream at the dam at St. Croix Falls. What is confusing is the fact similar tests found no traces of Asian carp in the Mississippi River at the Twin Cities in Minnesota. More testing is planned as state agencies work to head off the spread of the destructive fish.
The DNR is also reporting a bighead carp was caught in the Lower Wisconsin River.
