KALAMAZOO -- More charges have been filed in the case of a Kalamazoo man that rammed a a Sheriff's deputy's patrol car, injuring a deputy almost two weeks ago.
Three men and one woman from Kalamazoo were found with meth in a vehicle parked at the side of the road, and while 41-year-old Ray Preston fled, 47-year-old James Cunningham aimed his car at a deputy's patrol car and hit the gas. One deputy suffered a head injury, and was treated and released.
Both have both been charged with operating a meth lab, delivering meth, and resisting arrest. Cunningham has also been charged with destruction of police property and for assault for using the car he was found in as a weapon.
No charges have been issued regarding the 26-year-old woman that was with them at the time because she was not found to have actually committed any crime simply by being present.
