FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WTAQ) - Police in Fond du Lac say two young boys playing with matches started the fire which spread from an attached garage to 2 adjoining houses. 

Police say the boys, ages 7 and 9, were lighting paper towels behind the garage Monday. 

No one was hurt in the fire that caused heavy smoke damage to the homes. Both kids were referred to the fire departments' Juvenile Fire Starters program.
