UNDATED (WSAU) State Representative Jeff Wood is expected to enter pleas tomorrow in the last of his three impaired driving cases over the past two years. The independent from Chippewa Falls is due in Monroe County Circuit Court on misdemeanor charges of four-time O-W-I and bail jumping. It involves the last of three incidents over a year-and-a-half stretch in which he was caught driving erratically while impaired – the first time due to alcohol, and the last two times while under the influence of medications.
He's already served a 45-day term for driving drunk in Columbia County. The judge allowed him to work at his home in Chippewa Falls during the day, and sleep in the Chippewa County jail overnight. Wood was sentenced earlier this month to 60-days for an O-W-I charge in Marathon County – and reports say he’ll most likely have the same home arrangement that he did the first time.
Wood is not running for re-election, and is wrapping up eight years in the state Assembly.
