MARINETTE COUNTY, Wis. (WTAQ) - Marinette County Sheriff's say human remains were found inside what's left of a house that burned down Tuesday. 

Fire crews were called to a fire on Digger Court near Deer Lake Road in the Town of Stephenson around 2 a.m.  When firefighters arrived, the home and a detached garage were engulfed in flames.

During the investigation, officers were worried the person who lived at the house was inside. Around noon, excavation of the scene revealed the human remains, which have not been identified.
