MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - The Wisconsin Supreme Court will hear arguments on if teenagers convicted of murder should be allowed to be given life prison terms without the chance for parole based on a Green Bay case.
The Equal Justice Initiative, based in Alabama, has filed an appeal on behalf of Omer Ninham, who's serving such a sentence after being convicted of killing Zong Vang.
Ninham tossed Vang off the St. Vincent Hospital parking ramp in 1998 when he was 14.
The DOJ argues there's nothing in the state or U.S. Constitutions prohibiting the sentence.
Hearing is set for January 5th.
