MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - Folks in the Waukesha and Wisconsin Rapids areas might have to travel further to get the tax help they need. The state Revenue Department said Monday it will close its office in Waukesha on Thursday. The Wisconsin Rapids office will close a week from Tuesday.
It’s part of a plan announced in 2007 to consolidate 27 field offices into 7 regional offices. Officials say the effort will be complete by the end of this year. The 7 offices to remain open are in Madison, Milwaukee, Appleton, Green Bay, Wausau, Eau Claire, and Chicago.
