(Washington, DC) -- The home of northern Michigan Congressman Bart Stupak will have extra attention over the next few weeks as Congress takes a break. Michigan State Police are increasing their patrols around the home in the Upper Peninsula city of Menominee as a result of threats the lawmaker has received over his vote for healthcare reform. Stupak, a pro-life Democrat, is among several members of Congress who have been targets of nasty phone calls, threats and vandalism since the vote. Stupak had been opposed to passing healthcare reform until he received word from the White House that President Obama would issue an executive order keeping in place current restrictions on the use of federal funds for abortion.
