(Washington, DC)  --  Congressman Bart Stupak, who represents the northern Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula, will face a challenge from within the Democratic Party this year.  Connie Saltonstall of Charlevoix is running for the Democratic nomination for the seat.  Stupak has gained national attention for his stance on opposing federal funds for abortions as part of healthcare reform.  Saltonstall said she is running to unseat Stupak because she believes the veteran lawmaker could halt healthcare reform from passing.
