SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Wis. (WTAQ) - A fire overnight destroyed a factory in Sheboygan County that made pellets for wood-burning stoves.

The sheriff’s department said it was called just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to the Lakeshore Pallet Company in the town of Wilson. When the first deputy arrived, the plant was fully engulfed in flames. Crews from 15 area fire departments responded to the scene.

One firefighter suffered a back injury and was taken to a Sheboygan hospital. Deputies said all 4 buildings on the site were a total loss. All of them had materials for producing the wood pellets.

Authorities are trying to figure out what caused the blaze.
