STURGEON BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - A Door County judge has denied Darren Berg's request for a change of venue. 

Berg is the Sturgeon Bay High School teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student. Prosecutors say Berg had sex with a 17-year-old girl at her home last summer. 

The judge however dismissed one count against him Thursday. Berg's attorney claims the encounter was consensual, but under state law it's a crime for the 2 to have a sexual relationship.
