CHICAGO (Reuters) - The Chicago White Sox avoided arbitration with pitcher Bobby Jenks and outfielder Carlos Quentin, signing both to one-year deals on Saturday.

The right-handed Jenks, who had 29 saves while compiling a 3-4 record with a 3.71 earned run average in 2009, will earn $7.5 million, the White Sox said on their website (http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com).

Quentin, who will make $3.2 million, hit .236 with 21 home runs and 56 runs batted in 99 games.

He was on the disabled list for almost two months with plantar fasciitis in his left foot a year after being an American League All-Star.
