NEW YORK (Reuters) - The New York Giants took another step in reshaping their coaching staff by firing defensive line coach Mike Waufle on Wednesday, the NFL team said.
Defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan was dismissed on Monday following a season in which a 5-0 start faded to an 8-8 finish with the team yielding more points than all but two NFL teams.
Waufle had been defensive line coach since head coach Tom Coughlin took over in 2004. Prior to joining the Giants, Waufle was defensive line coach with the Raiders for six seasons.
