DURAND, Wis. (WTAQ) - Fire destroyed 3 businesses and damaged 2 others during the night in downtown Durand in far western Wisconsin. Officials said the blaze started in the rear of the Main Street Café shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday. The restaurant was destroyed, along with the adjacent Cottage Hill Floral and Frame shop, and Toni’s Interiors. The Hair Hut also received smoke damage. There were no reports of injuries. 7 fire departments, including Durand’s, put out the blaze. Fire Chief Larry Plumer said the blaze spread close to the roof, and all 3 of the destroyed businesses had common walls.
