According to The Hollywood Reporter, Discovery Communications has edged out rival A&E Networks in the bidding for Sarah Palin's Alaska.
An agreement could be announced in the next few days. The show is produced by Mark Burnett Productions.
While it remains unclear whether the Palin show would run on the flagship channel, having the former governor as a centerpiece also makes the show a fit for mom-friendly TLC, opines THR.
Palin's show won't come cheap, says THR. Her asking price was $1.2 million per episode, which would make it one of the most expensive nature series ever produced. The high-definition program will feature Palin acting as a guide to the Alaskan outdoors.
