PLYMOUTH, Wis. (WTAQ) - A huge fire was finally put out Friday morning at an abandoned warehouse in Sheboygan County. The blaze was first reported about 10 p.m. Thursday at what used to be the Kraft cheese factory in Plymouth.

It’s been a warehouse for about 20 years, and is owned by David Lebouton. Firefighters from 10 departments helped put out the blaze. Plymouth assistant fire chief Dennis Fellows said the flames spread quickly – fueled by wooden timbers, cardboard, and other flammable items. The cause remains unknown.

Fellows said most of the two-story building had collapsed by 7:30 a.m. Friday – and a few firefighters will watch for flareups during the weekend. The warehouse covered about 36,000 square feet.
