UNDATED (WKZO) -- It’s history repeating itself. Two petition initiatives that would expand casino operations in Michigan could put the questions on the fall ballot. One would allow casino gaming at horse racing tracks. The other would allow new casinos in Benton Harbor, Muskegon, Flint, Lansing and at Detroit Metro Airport.
Now a coalition called Project MI Vote has been formed to defeat the proposals, and they are being largely funded by existing casinos, and using the same P.R. firm. There are also some lawmakers and law enforcers who have signed on. The backers of the proposals first have to collect nearly 400-thousand signatures by July 1st to qualify for the ballot.
