King Vs. Cruz

by Jerry Bader

As I've said on the air, I'm not a fan of Texas Senator Ted Cruz's strategy. And I'm tired of conservatives who disagree with Cruz's strategy being painted as RINO's (Ron Johnson for one). But Peter King's incredibly shrill and strident attacks on Cruz are puzzling nonetheless.

Some speculate King is considering a presidential run for 2016 and almost all observers believe Cruz is. Well, King sure sounds like a guy that wants to damage Cruz in advance of a future match up. He called Cruz a fraud; how did he think Cruz's supporters would respond? I'm not defending the type of behavior King describes, but he fired the first shot.

And I don't know if calling Cruz a false leader is the best outreach to his supporters.
