Ironically, it sounds like one of those scary TV news teases: "Is watching TV killing you?" The sedentary nature of tube watching has been blamed on obesity and other health problems, but the results of this study seem pretty stark; the more you watch, the quicker you die. I've always believed that the correlation was iffy, that big TV consumers led an overall sedentary lifestyle and that TV watching was just one part of it. This seems to suggest that even among sedentary behavior TV viewing is particularly dangerous.
You wonder how big a factor, if any, binge watching is; watching numerous episodes of "House of Cards" or "Orange" all at once.
