A Titan storm approaches

The practice week for the Tennessee Titans began today and the Packers were on the thin side after clinching the NFC North title in Chicago last Sunday.  Two players took the day off after suffering concussions against the Bears, unbeknownst to the media.  T.J. Lang and Alex Green did not participate but Mike McCarthy thought both would be fine by Sunday's game with the Titans.  McCarthy said Lang developed some symptoms after returning from the road trip on Monday morning and the news from team doctor John Gray on both players is encouraging.   Seven others did not participate, Tom Crabtree had to leave the Bears game with a hamstring pull, Jordy Nelson's hamstring still had him sidelined, Jeff Saturday with ankle and shoulder injuries didn't work out, James Starks is still recovering from a knee injury, Erik Walden didn't work with a bad ankle, C.J. Wilson is still slowed by by a knee injury but making progress and Jerel Worthy had a tight hamstring and did not practice.  More encouraging was Charles Woodson, still limited with is healing collarbone but if not this week, he'll certainly be on the field in Minnesota.  Randall Cobb was limited with a sore shoulder and Aaron Rodgers was listed on the injury report with a sore ankle but he was a full participant and there's no worries for the Tennessee game.

Of more concern to the team is the oncoming blizzard.  The snow is expected late Wednesday night and all through the day Thursday.  A winter storm warning is up for anywhere from 8 to as much as 12 inches.   When asked how the team's planning for the onslaught, McCarthy quipped, make sure there's enough diesel in the snowblower.  At Wednesday's team meeting, several players assured the coach they'll make it work, they own a truck.  Mike chuckled at some of the newcomers, unaware of just what a Wisconsin winter storm can be like, saying you might need more than a truck.  The Don Hutson center will be busy tomorrow with the players who do make it in.   The Packers annual team Christmas party, held in the Lambeau Atrium, set for Thursday night, has been cancelled.
