Justin Harrell's season is indeed over.  Mike McCarthy confirmed this morning that Justin tore the ACL in his left knee while blocking for Mason Crosby's 49 yard field goal in second quarter.  Surgery is forthcoming and Harrell will be placed on the season ending injured reserve list.   Hard to believe it's progress, but at least Harrell actually played this season.   He never made it to the active roster in 2009 because of recurring back problems.  He appeared in only 6 games in 2008 bcause of back trouble which led to a pair of off-season operatons.  His rookie season was slowed by ankle injuries and didn't make his debut until October 7.   He lasted only three games as a senior at Tennessee before tearing his biceps tendon.   This guy is a medical nightmare and perhaps the most unfortunate soul ever to be drafted by the Packers.  His loss creates a void on the defensive line, kept thin by design in Philadelphia.  Both rookies Mike Neal and C.J. Wilson were inactive, Neal was a late week scratch because of an abdominal strain.  McCarthy said Neal's status for the Bills game will be re-evaluated on Wednesday to see if he can take the strain.  Only 4 linemen were carried active and after Harrell went down, and Cullen Jenkins broke a bone in his hand only to return with a club cast, the Pack had basically 2 and a half healthy linemen.   McCarthy said the staff planned to play a lot of sub packages against the Eagles and wound up exclusively in nickel and dime formations.  Base inside linebacker AJ Hawk never saw the field.  The Packers will be in the market for another defensive lineman.

Running back Ryan Grant has what McCarthy calls a "significant" sprain of his right ankle, there may be some ligament damage and Grant is already ruled out for the home opener against Buffalo.  Grant was injured on his 8th and final rush of the game against the Eagles, an 18 yard burst through left tackle.  He was wearing a walking boot after the game.   Brandon Jackson will assume the number one halfback chores but McCarthy believes he's ready for the work.  Jackson gained 63 yards on 18 carries to lead the team in Philly.  John Kuhn will be the primary backup at the position while maintaining his fullback role.
