The Packers placed 2nd year linebacker Brad Jones on injured reserve this afternoon as head coach Mike McCarthy announced he will be undergoing season ending shoulder surgery.  It's the same shoulder Jones damaged during training camp.  The IR list is turning into quite a collection - Ryan Grant, Justin Harrell, Morgan Burnett, Jermichael Finley, Nick Barnett, Derrick Martin and now Jones.   After adding two linebackers to the team, primarily for special teams duty on Tuesday, General Manager Ted Thompson added another one today, plus a nose tackle to help the depleted defensive line. Erik Waldon, a third year player out of Middle Tennessee State was signed.  He was originally a sixth round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2008, got cut, was claimed by Kansas City and appeared in 9 games for the Chiefs his rookie year.  He was later released and spent a season and a half with the Miami Dolphins.   Green Bay also claimed 340 pound nose tackle Howard Green off waivers from the New York Jets, Sunday's opponent.  Green is in his 6th year out of LSU suffered a shoulder injury 2 weeks ago when New York played Minnesota after starting five games earlier this year.  Green had also started 12 games for the Saints in 2003 and 2004.

The first injury report for Sunday's game against the Jets was released after today's practice.  Aside from the bad news for Brad Jones, Ryan Pickett didn't practice with his ankle sprain and Donald Driver missed another day with his quad injury.  Chad Clifton (knee), Nick Collins (knee), Charles Woodson (toe), MarkTauscher (shoulder) and Cullen Jenkins (calf) were all limited in practice and Marshall Newhouse was a full participant with a sore back.  McCarthy said they'll give Pickett and Jenkins through the week before determining their availability for Sunday.  When both were lost against the Vikings, the Packers were left with three healthy linemen.  Concerns over the huge number of snaps this year for B.J. Raji prompted the move to sign Green.
