There's No Crying In Curling

danish crying curler

Apparently when fans make noise, Danish curlers cry.  Well, at least one of them.  Her name is Madeleine Dupont and she broke down when Canadian fans piped up.

We talked about this on the air, I actually took on the role of the wheeping curler, and afterwards a friend of mine shot me a text.  She follows curling more closely than I do and she plays.  She informed me that curling is a "gentlemans game" and loud cheering (and heaven forbid taunting) is not an acceptable practice.  Taking that into consideration, maybe the Canadian fans were in the wrong for making too much noise and maybe Dupont has a legit complaint.  But that's no reason to cry about it!!!!!!!!

Coach Jimmy Dugan said it best, "there's no crying in curling!" Wait, I think he meant baseball, but you get my point.  Complain about the fans if you want, verbally scold them if that's what you need to get through the night.  But don't whine about it to the press.  I know it's the Olympics and you were very close to winning but take it like a woman and move on.  No one respects a sore loser.

Did I mention that Dupont is the skip of the team?  Well she is.  You are the leader, suck it up.
