Dear Lauri: Last night I dreamt that my son and I were in a backyard pool collecting blueberries when all of the sudden my dog went to the gate and growled. I knew that it meant a bear was coming for the blueberries so we rushed to get out and hide before it came to attack us. WTF? - Rider 41, Denver, CO
Lauri: Just as you knew a bear was approaching in the dream, what in real life do you feel is about to happen? Bears usually represent an overBEARing person or a situation that is hard to BEAR. Is there anyone around you that you might describe as vicious or that tends to make you feel under attack? Collecting blueberries may be about enjoying the fruits of your labor. Is there something that you are afraid will spoil that? Your dream seems to be telling you that you need to prepare in some way. The blueberries suggest a bout of the blues could be on the way. Also, when we hide in a dream it means there is something in real life we don’t want others to know about. Are you hiding your feelings about this situation?
Katherine replies: I am out of work. In leaving my job I have left someone who is very vicious behind. There is also a roofing company who’s threatening us with a lawsuit because we went with another company. As far as hiding from my true feelings, I have often wondered if I am doing that. I was the scapegoat of poor leadership at work and since my release there has been a little anger but most of all I feel free and optimistic for the future. My wife thinks it’s wrong that I’m not more stressed out.
