Open Records Request on Doe Probe Denied

Posted by Jerry Bader on

I said on the air today that I actually don't doubt the DA's office that it doesn't have the information as requested. While it's true the Milwaukee County DA's office won't make getting this information any easier than they have to, it also won't be tied up with a pretty bow. I've been around DA offices enough to know that it's basically true that hours worked and dollars spent aren't segregated into neat little categories. That doesn't mean there isn't data to be mined here, but it will be labor intensive.

Open records requests can be made on where investigators were and when, their expenses, etc. And even then all of that data will be in a moasic form that will have to be morphed into one picture. Is it worth it? I don't know. But I believe the answer is there.
