This is truly, truly mind boggling. Nobody in this sector of space believes Easley made the right call. I don't even believe the NFL does; I believe they stood behind him because they felt they had to. I made the case on the show today that I don't blame Easley and other replacement refs for taking the opportunity; it's the NFL's responsibility not to hire incompetent staff. You don't blame the employee for a bad hire. But...
This stance is inexcusable by Easley.You screwed up. You screwed up big. Man up and admit it. And he is, in essence, lying about what the NFL rules say. It's one thing to screw up; it's another to pretend you didn't.
