This is an issue where I feel Republicans are losing a very winnable fight. As this piece neatly chronicles, the GM success story Team Obama is pushing is a sham. GM is still being propped up and the only thing that was truly saved was UAW jobs. But I get the sense that Republicans either don't understand this, or are afraid to say it.

In either case they need to be willing to reveal this fraud. The American automobile industry certainly would have undergone a drastic change if the legal bankruptcy process had been allowed to run its course. And yes, the American economy may have taken a hit, but would have survived. In the end, the bailout was just another handout delaying the inevitable. As this piece also points out, that delay just had to extend beyond November 6.
