I've long taken issue with the prohibition on clergy make cleary political statements, I question the constitutionality. And I chuckle at the passing reference given to the "Nuns on a bus" at the end of this piece. That was a purely partisan political tour and while this piece mentions that effort had its critics, I don't recall the Freedom from Religion Foundation being among them. In fact, Conservative talk radio is about the only place I heard criticsm of that effort and I, for one, did not cirticize their right to criticize Paul Ryan. I simply refuted their lame argument that scripture suggests government be the source of charity.
