Apparently, R.E.M. missed the humor in Fox theming the DNC with "Losing my Religion." Fox is likely right and there's nothing R.E.M. can do about this. I think it was darned clever on Fox's part. The booing of God being restored to the DNC platform was a nightmare for the party. Because it does show a large part of the party's contempt for religion.

Fox is also right in saying this is likely a publicity stunt. When's the last time anybody mentioned R.E.M. to you when they weren't speaking of eye activity during sleep?
