Scott Rose, the Joe McCarthy of the Gay Rights Movement

Posted by Jerry Bader on

Actually, that is an insult to Joe McCarthy, but this guy is guilty of everything the word "McCarthyism" has come to mean. I posted earlier this morning about how a University of Texas investigation cleared Professor Mark Regnerus of any academic wrongdoing in a study showing possible adverse effects of being raised by a same sex couple.

The man who brought this bogus complaint, Scott Rose, has gone absolutely unhinged on his blog as a result of the university clearing Regnerus. This shows the danger of the university even indulging a radical such as Rose with an investigation. Rose will never give up because he's driven by hatred. Almost all of his criticisms of Regnerus' work relate to these paranoid shadowy networks of gay haters. In all of his writings I've found no evidence of academic misconduct. Even Regnerus points out, according to foxnews.com:

He also noted in his paper that different outcomes for children of same-sex vs. heterosexual parents could be in part due to a lack of social support for same-sex parents, stigmatizing of gay parents.

And he also stated that same-sex parents can still do a good job of raising their children, writing "it is certainly accurate to affirm that sexual orientation or parental sexual behavior need have nothing to do with the ability to be a good, effective parent."

But modern liberals don't debate, they squelch. This is McCarthyism at its very, very worst. Rose will seek to discredit Regnerus the man because he cannot intellectually discredit his work. And that U-T even investigated this at all only emboldens the hate-filled left into trying to silence that which they cannot defeat intellectually.
