I missed this while in Tampa, but a listener shared it with me. A liberal effort to brand legitimate academic research as garbage has failed. While this is good news, many argued that the University of Texas had no cause to launch an investigation into Regnerus' paper and even subjecting him to the probe was something of a defeat. And much has been written about what he was subjected to.
I also blogged on what the editor of the academic journal was subjected to for having the temerity to publish this study. I used it as a shining example of how liberals are more interested in stifling those with who they disagree rather than debating them. This study was peer reviewed. The way academics is supposed to work is this study should have generated healthy discussion about its results and follow-up studies to see if the findings could be replicated.
Instead, behaving like public union employees in Wisconsin, they lashed out in an unhinged fashion, screaming heretic. Yes, this is academic justice. That the researcher and editor were subjected to it at all is still alarming.
