Really? It didn't meet "the editorial standards of CNN?"  It sounds to me as though the results of an academic study ticked off a lot of their readers and they caved. They didn't explain how this suddenly went from valid science to junk science(by the way, I have no opinion on the validity of this study). They offer no proof that they suddenly realized this was junk science.

Actually, I think they inadvertently conducted a scientific experiment of their own. We now know how hot it has to get for CNN to fold like a broken card table.
