Keep it up. The same conservative punditry that has been in bedwetting mode over Mitt Romney was wowed by him last and and they should have been; it was a spectacular performance. But Hayes is right here; Romney has gone bold before and then didn't follow through. I predicted the Paul Ryan pick would mark a change in direction in the Romney campaign, from safe and measured to bold and confident. It didn't. In fact, Romney seemed to be saying afterward; okay I did something big and bold, will you just leave me alone now? And we went back to safe.
I don't think anybody on left or right thought before last night's debate that Mitt Romney was going to dismantle President Obama in the manner in which he did. Romney now needs to heed Hayes' advice and keep this up on the campaign trail for the next month. And Romney also needs to realize it won't be this easy next time. Perhaps most stunning to me is that President Obama appeared last night to be taking an opponent lightly. That won't happen twice.
