Austerity Strikes Hit Europe

Posted by Jerry Bader on

My daughter IM'd me this afternoon to tell me about this. She's studying in Valladolid a couple hours north of Madrid. She said several buildings on campus were closed and mass transit was snarled by people walking in the streets. This is what has conservatives rattled after the Nov. 6 election in the United States.

Mitt Romney could have chosen is words better, but about half the country does have the European mentality that the gravy train should never end, even if it's no longer affordable. Mitt's mistake was that it wasn't 47%. It was more than 50% of Americans who've bought into that. That's reality. And it's difficult for conservatives to accept that's reality in America today.
