Patraeus' reason for his resignation would have been a shocker whenever it came. But the timing is interesting, if not outright suspicious. President Obama is re-elected but Benghazi questions won't just go away. It's with that backdrop Pataeus, a key figure in the Benghazi investigation is, in fact, going to just go away. Hayes is right, Patraeus has earned the benefit of the doubt. But observation is rich with irony; Patraeus is a man of such integrity that he's earned the benefit of the doubt when he tells us he was unfaithful to his wife.
