Not yet, but it will if he wins. And the bigger the win, the bigger the legend. Given the way the national liberal movement is all hacked off about the fact unions pushed forward with this recall you have to wonder: is this thing as hopeless as the nationals are making it sound, is it false concern to make conservatives complacement, or is the national movement that tone deaf as to what's going on here on the ground in WI?
I'm not buying two polls in the past 24 hours showing Walker with 8 and 10 point leads. But what if this made rush to haul people in vans to vote early is more an act of desperation than it is some master plan? Conservatives are worried that the people they're getting to vote early are people who otherwise would not have voted. If that's true, it's a potentially serious problem for Scott Walker because polls of "likely voters" don't mean much because the people being rounded probably weren't likely to vote without the organized effort.
But if Walker does prevail he will not be a rising star, he'll be a conservative superstar.
