A Faulty Intelligence Report Lives On

Posted by Jerry Bader on

If I look at this objectively, I can actually understand how some compare this with Iraq, circa 2003. But consider something; circa 2003 intel that said Iraq had WMD turned out to be faulty. The intel that claims Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in, ironically, 2003. The intel is from 2007. When informed voices make the claim that the 2007 intel is false, they are branded warmongers.

So, faulty intel led to war in 2003. I argue the world is a better place with Iraq the way it is, but even if that intel had been accurate, I will acknowledge that Iraq wouldn't be the threat to U.S. national security interests that Iran is if the 2007 intel is wrong. Faulty intel got us into a war that has left the world a better place. What if faulty intel keeps us out of a war that imperils global security?
