A Greek Scott Walker?

Posted by Jerry Bader on

We're not suggesting that his actions in office are inspired by Wisconsin's Governor. But somebody as resolute on reform in Wisconsin as Walker has been is almost as unthinkable as what Boutaris is doing in a Greek City. One of the most worn out cliches in all of politics is Edmund Burke's:

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

The left and right can debate whether letting entitlements grow out of control, whether in Madison or Washington, or, for that matter, Athens, is evil. But it is without question that good men have done nothing over the yaers as those entitlements have grown into a global, out of control, monster. Boutaris and Walker are doing something. One can only hope their ranks swell in the months and years to come.
