This analysis is right that Romney plans on playing it safe in his VP pick. Too safe, in my opinion. If Romney isn't willing to "gamble" on Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan, which many feel he his too timid to do, he'll never pick Walker. Actually, Walker probably is still too hot for a VP pick. Besides, he didn't go through this fight just to leave Wisconsin for Washington. Contrary to how Tom Barrett and the left tried to paint him, climbing the ladder isn't his primary motivation, at least not at the moment.
And if Walker stays on his current trajectory and Romney loses in November, it might be Walker with the running mate choice to make in 2016. But there are some gargantuan "ifs" in there.
