Another Madison Temper Tantrum

Posted by Jerry Bader on

This one from the guy Scott Walker called "a reasonable Democratic state senator. No, Tim Cullen is really just a cry baby liberal like the rest of them, it now appears. His leaving the caucus was NOT a matter of principle; it was a tantrum. "Let me on the team I want to be on or I'll take my ball and go home."

That this episode turns out to be nothing more than a leverage move by Cullen is telling. He's a moderate but is also considered the adult in the liberal room. Instead he, in essence, ran away again, which is also interesting considering it's widely believed he opposed the "Runaway 14 tactic."

It also says something about Mark Miller that he buckled so quickly to this. Scott Fitzgerald said on my show that should he become leader again via a Republican majority, he'd consider Cullen for a committee chair. That was enough to get Miller to fold. Something Republicans would do well to remember in the future.
