This absolute gem of liberal thinking comes via Media Trackers. Clark argues that because the jobs won't last forever, we shouldn't create them in the first place. I suppose when the mine closes there will be a massive downturn. But what's the definition of "short term gain." If the mine lasts 50 years, is that short term gain? What about 25 years? What if there are good paying jos for as few as 10 years(which I seriously doubt)?
If you follow this logic, NO company should ever start up because it might go out of business, putting people out of work. The thought that the total ban on mining in Wisconsin (and that's what we've had) is about to come to an end is almost as chilling to the left as Govenor Walker's collective bargaining changes. And don't be surprised if you see a similar reaction if the bill that would enable this mine to open is ultimately passed.
