Well, I'm keeping any eye on the forecast. It appears Issac's impact in the Tampa area will be strongest Sunday night through Tuesday morning. Definitely packing the Packers rain slicker. I've never covered a convention before and I'm very excited. We're told every four years that this is the most important election of our lives. Both sides seem to understand that it's truer than it has ever been (accepting that it has been true, to one degree or another, in the past).
I already have a number of guests lined up: Reince Preibus, Scott Walker, Tim Pawlenty, Ron Johnson, Reid Ribble, but hope to do a lot of "roving reporting." You won't see much from this blog today and tomorrow, but beginning tomorow night I'll be using it, Facebook and Twitter extensively. I'll be posting videos, podcasts, blog entries and still shots. You can find it all here. Please check back often. Of course, I'll be doing the show live from the convention hall.
As Democrats plan for "abortionpalooza" Labor Day Week, Republicans are defining the different directions in which both sides want to take the country. Whether Americans choose the conservative vision that recognizes individuals using their talents and ambition really did build this country and make it the greatest on earth, or the liberal euro-socialist statist model truly does make this the most important election of my lifetime. I'm honored to have a seat at the moment that launches the campaign in earnest.
