Fox News broke in with this story in the closing minutes of my show this morning. I think it would be safe to day I was stunned. Obey faced a tough fight from Republican Sean Duffy, but most democrats I spoke with felt Obey would probably survive. Dems claim to have a deep bench, but there's no question this is a seismic development in Wisconsin politics. The seat is clearly within reach for Republicans now.

It makes one wonder how worried Obey is about

1) his own re-election bid

2) Democrats prospect of keeping the House Majority in November.

The potential for a HUGE Republican night in November has just grown dramatically.
